Wild motorcycle ride video

There is a web video showing a frenzied motorcycle. The camera is right on the bike to give a rather frightening view of the low-light motorcycle ride at dusk.

It takes about one minute before the wild motorcycle ride actually begins.

McDonald’s fries: more trans-fat and allergens than we thought

What else was McDonald’s not telling us?

From a News Advance online article last month:

Not long after disclosing that its french fries contain more trans fat than thought, McDonald's Corp. said Monday that wheat and dairy ingredients are used to flavor the popular menu item - an acknowledgment it had not previously made.

The presence of those substances can cause allergic or other medical reactions in food-sensitive consumers.

McDonald's had said until recently that its fries were free of gluten and milk or wheat allergens and safe to eat for those with dietary issues related to the consumption of dairy items.

But the fast-food company quietly added "Contains wheat and milk ingredients" this month to the french fries listing on its Web site.

Last February, it paid $8.5 million to settle a suit by a nonprofit advocacy group accusing the company of misleading consumers by announcing plans in September 2002 to change its cooking oil but then delaying the switch indefinitely within months.

Reluctant to change the taste of a top-selling item, McDonald's has continued to maintain for the past three years that testing continues.

Traffic tip: Don't drive with pet snake around your neck

Here’s the traffic tip of the week from a Naples, Florida man: don't drive with a pet snake around your neck!

Especially if that pet snake is agitated.

Courtland Page Johnson, 30, of 1373 Wildwood Lakes Blvd., was driving his PT Cruiser on Golden Gate Parkway at about 9 p.m. when the pet snake he had wrapped around his neck attacked his face, Naples police officials said.

An onlooker told police Johnson was driving erratically and had crashed into several roadwork barricades.

Johnson had a snake in his hand at the time of the crash.

When police first encountered Johnson, he had numerous small cuts on his body, and freshly dried blood on his forehead and right hand.

Do ostriches really bury their heads in the sand?

The answer is no.

If threatened while sitting on the nest, which is simply a cavity scooped in the earth, the hen presses her long neck flat along the ground, blending with the background. This could give the appearance of an ostrich with its head in the sand.

Ostriches, contrary to popular belief, do not bury their heads in the sand.

Illegals must really hate America

The mass demonstrations against immigration reform showed the true feeling of many of the participants as they flew the Mexican flag above an American flag flown upside down as shown in the picture.

The Mexican flag has long been an issue in the immigration debate.

For some, it represents pride and unity among Mexicans and Mexican Americans fighting for their rights. For others, it symbolizes an invasion of the United States by Mexicans.

Coming across our southern borders by the thousands is one thing. To do it illegally is quite another.

Flying the American flag upside down under the Mexican flag will not help their cause because it shows how much they must hate America.

Most Britons don’t know what a hybrid is

Most British motorists don’t know what a hybrid car is.

New research revealed at the launch of Honda’s Civic Hybrid car [pictured] in the U.K. shows that British drivers are in blissful ignorance when it comes to understanding greener motoring.

More than half (51%) of British motorists were not even aware of hybrid cars.

Of the drivers who said they knew of hybrids, more than 40% didn’t know that it was a car that uses both petrol [gasoline] and electric power.

Incorrect responses ranged from the intelligent guess (”a car that uses a combination of fuels”) to the bizarre (”two cars welded together” or “a car made by more than one manufacturer”).

The research also asked people to name a type of alternative fuel vehicle and a huge 82% failed to mention the petrol-electric hybrid car.

Two cars welded together indeed!

But what if people in the United States were given the same survey? Would there be an equal number of strange replies? Probably.

Underwear with iPod pockets

iPod pockets for your Fruit of the Looms?

When I saw this on Denver channel 9 News last night I said, “ya gotta be kidding.” While talking about it the TV anchors laughed so hard they had to fade into a commercial.

The iPod is so small and thin it would seem to fit nicely in a shirt or trouser side pocket so I just never thought anyone would make underwear with iPod pockets. Silly me.

There is a company here that has been doing just that. The price is $22 each without the iPod.

Protesters say gringos not illegals must go

In the most ridiculous action of the year, Mexica Movement activists want white, English-speaking U.S. citizens of European descent to leave what they claim as “our continent.”

The activists are turning the tables and now want gringos to leave and are offering no amnesty for “non-indigenous” on “our continent.”

For years illegals have been flooding into the United States placing an undue burden on our welfare system.

Now we are paying the price for being too lenient in the past.

Some of those involved, including the Mexica Movement, have much bigger goals than stopping a piece of legislation before Congress

The movement seeks to create a sovereign, Spanish-speaking state, "Republica del Norte," or the Republic of the North, that would combine the American Southwest with the northern Mexican states and eventually merge with Mexico.

Others in the coalition hope to see a "reconquest" of the American southwest by Mexico. This would not likely take place through military action, they say, but rather through a slow process of migration – both legal and illegal.

We are not going to give our country to the illegals or anyone else for that matter. However, we must remember that it was white Europeans who entered this continent and forced native Americans onto reservations so we could have their land for our own use.
