When was the last time you cleared your browser’s cache?
The cache in your browser can fill up with temporary internet files causing two problems.
A full cache can make your computer a little sluggish.
A full cache in Microsoft Internet Explorer can also cause downloaded "gif" and "jpg" images to be saved as "bmp" files (a major inconvenience when I was trying to recover a group of my old eBay auction photos last year).
You can correct this by going to Internet options in your control panel and selecting “delete files” in the Temporary Internet Files area. You can also benefit by reducing the number of days to keep pages in history in the History area (I reduced mine to 10 days - I also clear my cache once a week or less).
If your cache is full, have patience -- it could take a few minutes for the task to complete, leaving you staring at the hourglass for what will seem like forever.
