Honda Motor Co. of Japan plans to to produce a small jet aircraft in the United States.
Honda will partner with Piper Aircraft to sell the airplane.
The HondaJet, a lightweight craft that seats seven, including the pilot, features the kind of innovations that characterize the Japanese automaker's vehicles.
Honda claims the plane is about a third more fuel-efficient than anything in its class.
There is an article here that says Walter Cronkite (pictured) was not the “most trusted man in America.”
Instead, he was he was the “most trusted liberal man in America.”
As such, Cronkite created a conservative media voice -- Fox News.
This aspect of Mr. Cronkite's long and distinguished career as a journalist was not mentioned in this week's showing of the PBS series American Masters that saluted the veteran CBS newsman.
The show, which is designed to examine "the lives, works, and creative processes of our most outstanding cultural artists," dug deep into Mr. Cronkite's life and career.
He was praised (one might even say worshiped!) for his coverage of the Kennedy assassination, political conventions, Vietnam and Watergate.
He was cited as a television pioneer, which he most certainly was.
Yet there was not a word about Mr. Cronkite's fundamental role as a "cultural artist" in creating Fox.
The reason for this was obvious. To mention Cronkite in this regard is to say that there were many Americans who slowly came to the recognition that Cronkite -- and the men and occasional woman who were around for the creation of the modern mainstream media -- was not "the most trusted man in America." Good old "Uncle Walter" turned out to be, well, "the most trusted liberal man in America."
One of the most notable moments of Cronkite's liberalism being unmasked in a highly visible fashion was his now famous series on Vietnam.
It was Cronkite, personally, who took to the airwaves to inform the American people not about the facts of the Vietnam War -- but rather of his quite liberal opinion about the War.
America believed it when Cronkite would voice his adamant liberal insistence of "that's the way it is" as he devoted valuable air time to voice his opinions.
The problem with Cronkite and his fellow "cultural artists" is that over time there emerged what seemed to many Americans as a very, very conscious decision to shut out the conservative world view altogether or, if forced to give it air time, to misrepresent it.
The main stream media has been doing just that on a grand scale since the 1960’s.
Is Walter Cronkite a man who deserves to be honored for his contributions to American life? Absolutely.
But for the record, all of those contributions should be honored, however unintentional.
For Fox News and every conservative radio show, magazine, website, and editorial page to succeed they had to have an audience. Walter Cronkite, with his relentless, decades-long delivery of his liberal world view as "the way it is" created that audience almost single-handedly.
Thanks, Uncle Walter. What would conservatives have done without you?
A fitting end to this posting would be to use Cronkite’s own words: “that’s the way it is.”
President Lyndon Johnson gave Ramsey Clark the Attorney General cabinet post in 1967.
Clark (pictured) is best known for the active legal defense he has given to Slobodan Milosevic the butcher of the Balkans. Clark is also well known for his active support and defense of Saddam Hussein and the Rwandan torturers. Ramsey Clark views all of them as anti-imperialist heroes.
Ramsey Clark vigorously defended the Vietnam War in the 1960’s and 1970’s. Now, however, he has been so critical of the war in Iraq he has advocated the impeachment of President Bush.
As Lyndon Johnson's Attorney General he tried to send Dr. Benjamin Spock, Marcus Raskin, and others to jail for their advocacy of resistance to the war in Vietnam.
But that was different. Vietnam was a war President Johnson, the man who gave him his cabinet post, had turned into a quagmire and anyone opposing the war was to be dealt with harshly.
In his defense of Slobodan Milosevic, Saddam Hussein and the Rwandan torturers, Ramsey Clark believed that massacre and torture did occur in each of those cases and that it was ordered by his client’s and that they were justified in carrying it out.
Providing a defense for the indefensible is one thing. Believing in their horrific crimes is quite another.
Ramsey Clark is a war criminals best friend.
Now the anti-Semitic side of Ramsey Clark is coming to light as he is organizing a National Emergency March on Washington to stop U.S aid to Israel and to prevent Israel from defending itself against Hizballah (Hezbollah).
Hizbollah is the terrorist group that was responsible for killing 241 American servicemen in Lebanon with a truck bomb in 1983.
Currently, Hizbollah is fighting Israel using civilian women and children as human shields. They fight without uniforms so they can melt into civilian crowds when confronted causing great harm to innocent people.
President Lyndon Johnson knew Ramsey Clark was a left-wing liberal when he appointed him Attorney General but he had no way of knowing just how far left-wing extreme Clark would later become.
Hey dude - another Dell laptop flamed.
One would think Dell could make a more concerted effort to warn uses of the potential danger of batteries causing fires in Dell laptops. How many Dell users are aware of the battery recall?
Or maybe Dell should supply fire extinguishers with their laptops.

Tour de France winner Floyd Landis supposedly tested positive for high testosterone.
If this holds up, it will show that he did not deserved the victory in cycling's signature event.

In his first public appearance since a positive test for high testosterone cast his title into doubt, the American cyclist said his body's natural metabolism -- not doping of any kind -- caused the result, and that he would soon have the test results to prove it.
There is an article here that says ice-cold watermelon is less nutritious than if eaten at room temperature.
Ice-cold watermelon may be refreshing, but it can be less nutritious than watermelon served at room temperature, U.S. Department of Agriculture scientists reported on Wednesday.
Watermelons stored at room temperature deliver more nutrients than refrigerated or freshly picked melons, they reported in the Journal of Agricultural and Food Chemistry.
Watermelon is rich in lycopene, an antioxidant that makes watermelons and tomatoes red and may help prevent heart disease and some cancers
Whole watermelons stored at 70 degrees Fahrenheit, which is about room temperature in air-conditioned buildings, had substantially more nutrients.
