Wikipedia: the most quoted - least accurate site on the web

There is another negative article about Wikipedia at the link below titled: Wikipedia has worn out its welcome.”

Wikipedia is one of the most quoted yet least accurate sites on the web.

The online encyclopedia is open for anyone to add to or edit.

The sad fact is that many people think everything they see in Wikipedia is accurate and consider the content serious reference material.

We have posted several articles about Wikipedia. We even devoted an entire category to stories about the online encyclopedia. The articles posted there tell of the wiki origin and of College Professors who give students failing grades if they use Wikipedia because of the potential for inaccuracy.

In Wikipedia you can expect to find the following in some of the entries:

Inaccurate editing
Failure to check facts
Personal political agendas
Questionable sources
Lack of objectivity
Material that is completely fabricated.

Hmm...come to think of it...is that any different from the New York Times?
