It must be difficult to be an aide to presidential hopeful Mike Huckabee.
In discussing the volatile situation in Pakistan, Mike Huckabee has made several erroneous or misleading statements at a time when he has been under increasing scrutiny from fellow presidential candidates for a lack of fluency in foreign policy issues.
He offered an Orlando crowd his “apologies for what has happened in Pakistan.” His aides said later that he meant to say “sympathies.”
Huckabee aides must be getting tired of following him around with a broom and a mop.
Huckabee and his aides often go in defensive mode saying he was misquoted, or someone else actually wrote it, or he is sorry he said it. If that doesn’t work they try to explain what he really did mean.
The recent Huckabee surge in the polls may not last. He may flame out soon if astute Iowans see him for what he really is -- an empty suit with humorous one-liners.
If we want a comedian in the White House, we should persuade Larry the Cable Guy (pictured) to run. He isn’t a former Governor but he does have a flag on top of his pickup.
