A man in a canoe examines a sculpture in Alster Lake, Hamburg, Germany. The thirteen-foot-high sculpture made by Oliver Voss will be in place until August 12.
The sculpture is called “Badenixe”, which translates to “bathing beauty”.
Another name is “Riesen-Nixe”, which translates to “grand mermaid”. Clearly, it doesn’t look like a traditional mermaid, as it apparently has knees rather than a fish tail.
