It is a poorly kept secret that Chelsea Clinton (pictured) has been struggling in her position as a correspondent at NBC.
When you’re the only child of a former President of the United States and a former First Lady who is the current Secretary of State you get preferential treatment.
Reports on Chelea Clinton have not all been good, however.
She was even called “TV’s Dork Diva” by BuzzFeed.
She didn’t blow anyone away with her presence during the interview process, according to network executives who interviewed her.
“Horrible,” says another high ranking TV executive who met with Chelsea.
There was a sense in the meetings that the news channels were auditioning for her — not the other way around — which rubbed a few of those she met with the wrong way.
“They acted like we should be grateful” that she was offering herself to the networks, said one exec.
How many unproven correspondents deal with prospective employers through an agent?
One senior NBC staffer told colleagues after multiple meetings that Chelsea was going to be simply “terrible” on television.
From most reports he was pretty much right.
