New York City Mayor Mike Bloomberg was spending Thursday defending his proposed ban on soft drinks in containers larger than 16 ounces.
Defending the health of New Yorkers is hard work but Mayor Bloomberg was up to it.
So what did Hiz Honor do to commemorate killing large soft drinks for his minions?
Celebrate the 75th National Donut Day!
There will be “‘Donut Lassies’ handing out donuts in traditional uniforms, “free Entenmann’s donuts and coffee,” the “largest box of Entenmann’s donuts ever created,” and donuts a whole foot in diameter! How fun!
And to top it off, there’s going to be a proclamation letter written by…lets see, what’s this name?…Mayor Michael Bloomberg!
Yikes. Those two situations don’t look good back to back. And Deputy Mayor for Health Linda Gibbs certainly wasn’t expecting to talk about donuts during her press conference about the soda ban. Unfortunately, that’s what a reporter asked her about.
