Mark David Chapman is in prison for the 1980 murder of former Beatle John Lennon.
Last week Chapman was denied parole for the seventh time. He is incarcerated at Wende Correctional Facility in western New York.

During his parole hearing Chapman retold chilling details of the December 8, 1980 murder.
Chapman said he decided to kill Lennon “because he was very famous.”
He also considered targeting television host Johnny Carson and actor George C. Scott but Lennon was more famous, Chapman said.
He insisted he had no anger toward Lennon and if Lennon would have been less famous than the others on the list, he would not have been shot.
That's about as cold blooded as one can get!
