A Lofty Endeavour

The space shuttle Endeavour, carried piggyback atop a jumbo jet, landed at Edwards Air Force Base in California on Thursday at the tail end of a cross-country trip to Los Angeles to begin its final mission as a museum exhibit.

The space shuttle Endeavour arrived in California today after taking a detour to make a Tucson flyover as former astronaut Mark Kelly and wife, former Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords (pictured), watched from a rooftop at the University of Arizona.

Kelly commanded Endeavour’s final mission.
