A startup car company from Tempe, Arizona, called Elio Motors is moving into the former General Motors plant in Shreveport, Louisiana where it would build three-wheeled low-price vehicles.
The prototype two-seater, shown above, averages 65 miles per gallon of gas and will sell for $6,800 when commercial production begins in mid-2014.
This lilliputian car will accommodate one medium sized adult behind the wheel and one small person or child in the back seat.
The Elio car is actually considered a motorcycle under federal vehicle safety standards.
Who will be the first late-night comedian to suggest the Elio factory should use Toys”R”Us as distributors.
