A sign from the above? Lighting strikes the dome of St.Peter's Basilic in the Vatican during a storm that struck Rome on the same day Pope Benedict XVI announced his resignation.
The bolt of lightning struck St Peter's within hours after Pope Benedict stunned cardinals and Catholics around the world with first resignation in about 600 years when Pope Gregory XII resigned in 1415.
