Washington Post columnist Charles Krauthammer said President Obama went too far when he publicly explained the consequences of the looming sequestration deadline.
“Well, they know that they really overshot it,” Krauthammer said. “It was the president himself.
He could have had surrogates out there. But you know, the only thing left out of his litany of catastrophe is pestilence, earthquake, brimstone and plague.
Dr. Krauthammer said it’s actually hilarious he goes through all of this.
The White House is invoking Chicken Little as scare tactics are bandied about including the partial list below:
A vastly reduced military.
Huge cuts in education.
Unsafe airline travel as air traffic controllers will be laid off.
Unsafe cities as police and firemen are laid off.
Cuts in cancer research funding.
Small, local contractors forced out of business.
Massive increase in unemployment in many states.
Huge cuts in education.
Many, including Dr. Krauthammer , think this is a bluff to coerce congress into approving huge spending increases.
