A Reuters news report says Obama, already embroiled in a battle over a government shutdown, jumped into another dispute on Saturday, a long-running fight over the name of the Washington Redskins NFL football team.
You’d think Mr. Obama would be too busy blocking World War II veterans from visiting their open-air memorial and Vietnam veterans from visiting their open-air memorial to become embroiled in the name of the Washington Redskins football team.
Will he also find time to complain about the Cleveland Indians and Atlanta Braves baseball teams. And how about the Florida State Seminoles and the UND Fighting Sioux football teams.
Will he complain about commercial products such as the Indian motorcycle, Jeep Cherokee and Mohawk Tires?
And what about names of cities and towns such as my home town of Sioux Falls. And then there are the rivers and parks. The ones I like best are the Waubonsie State Park in Iowa near the Nishnabotna River.
Ranting about Indian names should keep Mr. Obama busy for the rest of his term and then some.
