American success in oil and natural gas development has caught the attention of the world as other countries seek to emulate American success.
Producing shale gas using hydraulic fracturing is commonly known as fracking.
Fracking uses water, sand and chemicals to break underground shale formations and release fuel. The technique has been key to economic revivals in localities across the U.S. and has helped domestic oil and gas production skyrocket.
From the report at the first link below:
The International Energy Agency recently reported that American oil production will surpass Saudi Arabia’s to become the globe’s single biggest producer of oil and natural gas as soon as 2020, putting North America on track to becoming energy-independent.
Imagine that -- an America no longer held hostage by the greedy oil barons of the middle east!

A new anti-fracking movie starring Matt Damon erroneously presents American oil and natural gas producers as money-grubbing villains purportedly poisoning rural American towns. It is therefore of particular note that the film is financed in part by the royal family of the oil-rich United Arab Emirates.
Incidentally, the anti-fracking film “Promised Land” has flopped at the box office as reported in the second link below.
Look for an attempt by President Obama to ban fracking. Vermont has already banned fracking - which is ridiculous because Vermont is not an oil-gas state.

The Obama administration has been against fracking for the same reason the administration is against the Keystone pipeline. Blocking the pipeline serves two purposes for the president. He wants to placate the radical environmentalists who support him and also keep us more oil-dependant on his friends in the mid east.
America becoming oil-independent is not good news to the Obama administration. A prosperous economy does not create fertile ground for his ‘crisis to crisis’ style of ruling.
Will the nation that invented fracking soon be the only nation to ban the practice?
