Now, with the 2014 midterms looming, the Republican National Committee plans to hold multiple “Fire Harry Reid” rallies to remind voters of Senator Reid’s unethical record.
The campaign officially started earlier this week with a message from RNC chairman Reince Priebus, who urged attendees to “stop Obama’s big government overreach and fire Harry Reid after he paved the way for ObamaCare and stalled dozens of jobs bills.”
Harry Reid has blocked 333 House bills from ever reaching the Senate floor
RNC leaders hope the plan will energize the party’s base and have an effect similar to the 2010 midterms, where “Fire Nancy Pelosi” became a rallying cry for conservative candidates.
If the RNC’s efforts truly manage to take off, “anti-Reid” could become the message Republicans need to pick up six seats in November.
