President Obama’s support didn’t help as Hawaii’s Democratic Gov. Neil Abercrombie was soundly defeated in Saturday's primary by a state senator.
Abercrombie's loss to state Sen. David Ige makes him the first sitting governor in state history to lose a primary for reelection. It came amid concerns about tax hike proposals and his leadership style.
Not much will change by replacing one Democrat with another. Sort of like replacing Barack Obama with Hillary Clinton. In the words of Hillary herself during the Benghazi investigation, "what difference at this point does it make?"
