Los Angeles sees record cold

Downtown Los Angeles dipped to 35 degrees just before 4 a.m. Monday, breaking the previous daily record of 36 degrees set on Jan. 14, 2007.

Elsewhere Monday, it was 13 degrees in high desert Lancaster at 6 a.m., 25 degrees in Fresno, 27 in Temecula, 33 in Redondo Beach and Sacramento, 36 in Van Nuys and Palm Springs and 40 in San Francisco.

Report: Forget global warming - Alaska is headed for an ice age

Reports at the links below warn that Alaska, the nation's icebox, is getting even icier.

Two resupply ships shown above are stuck in Frobisher Bay by Iqaluit. Coast Guard icebreakers have been struggling to cut a path for the ships, but ice is so thick that it's closing around the icebreakers before the ships are able to pass through. July 11, 2012 CBC

Obama warns of global warming even though warming stopped 16 years ago

In his press conference Barack Obama said:

I am a firm believer that climate change is real, that it is impacted by human behavior and carbon emissions.

We can’t attribute any particular weather event to climate change. What we do know is the temperature around the globe is increasing faster than was predicted even 10 years ago.

The reality: Global warming stopped 16 years ago.

Research shows the new figures mean that the 'pause' in global warming has now lasted for about the same time as the previous period when temperatures rose, 1980 to 1996.

Why do liberal politicians continue to warn us about global warming caused by carbon emissions?

It’s the “cap and trade” scam that will allow the government to “tax” businesses for whatever they emit into lakes and streams or into the atmosphere.

Just what is cap and trade and how does it work?

Under a cap and trade system, a government authority first sets a cap, deciding how much pollution in total will be allowed.

Next, companies are issued credits, essentially licenses to pollute, based on how large they are, what industries they work in, and so forth.

If a company comes in below its cap, it gets extra credits, which it may trade with other companies.

If a company goes above its cap and it doesn't have carbon credits it is charged a carbon tax based on measured emissions.

This tax, just like any other additional tax to businesses, is passed on to consumers in the form of higher costs for goods and services.

Cap and trade is a fertile ground for political corruption.

Democrat Congressman Henry Waxman used cap and trade “breaks” as bribes to gain votes in an attempt to pass cap and trade in 2009 as reported here.

Good news for polar bears: bad news for global warming alarmists

The media is full of warnings that Arctic ice is at an all-time low. As often happens they only give us half the story.

Antarctic sea ice set another record this past week, with the most amount of ice ever recorded on day 256 of the calendar year.

Please, nobody tell the mainstream media or they might have to retract some stories and admit they are misrepresenting scientific data.

The left-leaning National Public Radio (NPR) published an article last month claiming, “Ten years ago, a piece of ice the size of Rhode Island disintegrated and melted in the waters off Antarctica.

Two other massive ice shelves along the Antarctic Peninsula had suffered similar fates a few years before.

The events became poster children for the effects of global warming, claiming there was no question that unusually warm air triggered the final demise of these huge chunks of ice.

NPR failed to mention that Antarctic sea ice has been growing since satellites first began measuring the ice 33 years ago and the sea ice has been above the 33-year average throughout 2012.

Warming alamists continently tell only the side of the story that fits their agenda.

Sea ice around one pole is shrinking while sea ice around another pole is growing. How can this be a global warming crisis?

A big question during the DNC - where is Al Gore?

In 2008, Al Gore (pictured) strode onto the stage at Denver’s football stadium to a hero's welcome, throwing his support behind Barack Obama to take on the "global climate crisis."

When Obama takes the stage this week, Gore will be nowhere in sight.

Gore's evolution over the past four years — from a central figure in the Democratic Party to a no-show at its biggest event — matches what has happened to the issue of climate change itself, which moved to the sidelines alongside its chief crusader.

Obama backs off global warming

President Obama is steering clear on climate according to a report in Roll Call:

President Barack Obama’s first Earth Day proclamation in 2009 was an urgent call to address global warming.

This year? The word “climate” didn’t even get a mention.

Four years ago, Obama and his opponent, Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.), both ran on implementing a cap-and-trade system to reduce carbon emissions.

All he is doing now is to make a push to extend clean energy tax breaks. The White House has soft-pedaled the way it talks about climate change.

Global warming is fast becoming passé and cap-and-trade is yesterdays scam.

Rantings of a Global Warming alarmist

Writing for Forbes Magazine, climate change alarmist Steve Zwick calls for skeptics of man-made global warming to be tracked, hunted down and have their homes burned to the ground, yet another shocking illustration of how eco-fascism is rife within the environmentalist lobby.

There was a report about firemen in Tennessee who would sit back and watch houses burn if the owners didn’t pay a $75 fee.

Zwick rants that anyone who actively questions global warming propaganda should face the same treatment.

Report: Free ride over for “global warming”

There never really was a “global warming.”

Global warming is over. It has ended. How do we know this? Television has stopped covering global warming. Climategate killed it.

At the link below there are graphs showing the sudden drop in “global warming” coverage after 2009.

Reporters will not admit that Climategate killed this crackpot theory because then they would have to admit they were wrong. Instead, not with a bang but with a whimper goes global warming and the irrational fear of carbon dioxide.

The media has dropped this junk science. The theory that we might warm things up by 3 degrees in 70 years failed to sway the public — especially after they made up data.

The leftist media moved on. Time for them to conjure up some new fear to exploit.

Senator Inhofe says cap and trade is dead on Capitol Hill

Oklahoma Senator James Inhofe (upper photo), the ranking Republican member of the Environment and Public Works committee, told The Daily Caller on Monday that climate change skeptics have won the debate over global warming on Capitol Hill.

“We’ve won the fight because there’s no way in the world they could pass through legislation a cap and trade bill,” Inhofe said, referring to proposed laws that would limit carbon emissions. “It’s dead, gone, forever.”

Senator Inhofe is the author of “The Greatest Hoax: How the Global Warming Conspiracy Threatens Your Future”

Inhofe said he initially believed claims that humans were responsible for climate change but after reviewing the science behind the claim, he now says he believes that the theory is a lie, and that the United Nations is largely responsible for promoting it.

Inhofe doesn’t mention that Al Gore is still promoting global warming, probably because Mr. Gore (lower photo) is becoming an irrelevant player in the climate change debate.

Incidentally, Al Gore's Carbon Trading exchange in Chicago (Chicago Climate Exchange - CCX) went belly up a little over a year ago as reported here.
