The Expendables 2 will finish in first place Friday and this weekend. It’s followed by Universal’s The Bourne Legacy in second place and the Rocky Mountain Pictures’ documentary 2016 Obama’s America in fourth place.
That’s stunning because it’s playing in 1/3 less theaters across North American than number one and number two and they are both wide release action movies!

British actor Daniel Day-Lewis is shown above in the role of Abraham Lincoln for an upcoming 2012 biographical drama film directed by Steven Spielberg.
The movie will be in theaters on November 9. It will focus on the last four months of the life of President Lincoln.
A watch worn by Steve McQueen in the movie Le Mans sold for nearly $800,000 at an auction of film memorabilia.
The auction house Profiles in History said Tuesday the Heuer wrist watch worn by McQueen in the 1971 action movie sold for $799,500.
The buyer was not identified.

With the deadly shooting in Aurora, Colo., inside a packed movie theater showing "The Dark Knight Rises," questions are being raised as to whether there is any connection between the killings and the movie's plot and the character of Batman.
In "The Dark Knight Rises," a masked villain leads a murderous crew into a packed football stadium and wages an attack involving guns and explosives.
It's just one of the more haunting scenes in what was one of the most anticipated movies of the summer, if not the year.
There were 3,700 midnight showings of the new Batman movie, The Dark Knight Rises.
A masked gunman opened fire at one of the 3,700 showings leaving 12 dead, 50 injured, and one in custody.
Liberals everywhere are wasting no time to use this massacre in an effort to push gun control and gut the Second Amendment.
Mayor Bloomberg asks the Obama administration for stricter gun laws following the Colorado shooting.
How will stricter gun laws bring an end to criminals having guns, when the laws against murder have not been able to stop them from killing innocent people?
They are also not mentioning that Aurora, Colorado has strict gun laws.
These gun laws were unable to stop the shooter, James Holmes, but if one law abiding citizen in the theater had been carrying one...
Actor Ernest Borgnine has died of kidney failure at age 95. He is shown below in a photo taken last year with his with his wife, Tova.
Borgnine, who endeared himself to a generation of Baby Boomers with the 1960s TV comedy "McHale's Navy," first attracted notice in the early 1950s in villain roles, notably as the vicious Fatso Judson, who beat Frank Sinatra to death in "From Here to Eternity."
As a tribute to his versatility, he won a best-actor Oscar for playing a lovesick butcher in "Marty" in 1955.

Alec Baldwin for mayor of New York may be more than just a rumor.
That’s according to his little brother Billy, who said in an interview with CNN’s Piers Morgan on Tuesday night that the “30 Rock” star’s on-and-off political aspirations could actually be “very real.”
“I think on one level it’s very real. I think he’s very committed and extremely bright and knowledgeable and I think he could do it and he could run,” Billy Baldwin said. “On the other hand, I’m not quite sure if he’s cut from the proper cloth because it requires a lot of tolerance.”
Tolerance is not one of Alec Baldwin’s attributes. As mayor would he attack the paparazzi?

Ronan Farrow, son of Woody Allen and Mia Farrow, tweeted last Sunday, "Happy father's day -- or as they call it in my family, happy brother-in-law's day"
Woody and Ronan have been estranged since his parents split and because Woody was dating (and later married) Soon-Yi Previn, Mia’s adopted daughter, Ronan’s step-sister.
Ronan has been quoted in the past as saying, “He’s my father married to my sister. That makes me his son and his brother-in-law. That is such a moral transgression.”
Soon-Yi has said that she never considered Allen her father or even a father figure, noting that Andre Previn, Farrow’s former husband was her adoptive father.
It’s sometimes unbelievable how some celebrity families can be so intertwined. You just can’t make this stuff up.
