Bob Schieffer unloads on a White House underling asking “why are you here? Why isn’t the White House Chief of Staff here?”

Bob Schieffer is generally a staunch ally of the president, or anyone else in the Obama administration.

However, for the second Sunday in a row he is fed up with the White House’s talking points concerning what happened at our consulate in Benghazi, Libya, last September.

Schieffer’s impatience boiled over when Obama senior advisor Dan Pfeiffer gave stock answers to questions about the three crises facing the President.

Schieffer accused his guest of taking "exactly the approach that the Nixon administration took" and finally scolding him by asking, "Why are you here today? Why isn't the White House Chief of Staff here to tell us what happened?"

Schieffer must have been having an Alzheimer's moment forgetting his usual habit of coddling anyone sent out by the Obama administration.

Mr. Schieffer was dead right on one thing - this was not Watergate.

No such call went out to protect Americans at Benghazi.

The Obama administration has said the Accountability Review Board (ARB) investigation of the Benghazi massacre as a review was “led by two men of unimpeachable expertise and credibility that oversaw a process that was rigorous and unsparing.”

The truth is the report was purposefully incomplete and willfully misleading.

The two men in charge of the ARB, Ambassador Thomas Pickering and Admiral Michael Mullen, a diplomat and military man respectively, have no meaningful investigative experience.

Instead of letting the facts lead the direction of the investigation, the report appears designed to protect the interests of Hillary Clinton, the State Department higher ups, and the president.

Hillary Clinton, who was then then Secretary of State, said she took full responsibility for what happened in Benghazi yet why was she never interviewed for the investigation?

Other relevant questions the report does not answer are:

How often did Clinton and President Obama speak during the attack?

What decisions did the president make, and what orders did he give?

What was the hour by hour participation of the president during the attack?

What Benghazi really boils down to in it’s simplest form:

Four Americans were murdered and our government allowed it to happen because they did not want the Benghazi disaster to hurt Obama's election.

The media made no effort to investigate. In some cases the media was inept but mostly the media wanted to protect Obama and his administration.

The hearings of the past few days have proven that the people in Benghazi could have been saved.

That means Benghazi had to have been part of something much bigger such as a possible CIA “Fast and Furious” style gun running operation in the middle east sending Gahdaffi´s arsenal to the Syrian rebels.

Ambassador Stevens was the key and could have brought all of them down. If that was indeed the case both Clinton and Obama had to let Stevens die along with the other Americans who were there with him.

Benghazi killed four Americans. The Obama administration, with the help of the media are still trying to pass it off as an unimportant event.

Obama’s Benghazi woes to continue

From a Reuters report:

A top Republican on Sunday said he expected more witnesses to step forward with information about last year's deadly attack on a U.S. mission in Benghazi and how President Barack Obama's administration responded to the unfolding events.

A report by ABC News provided additional momentum to the highly partisan flap over whether the administration tried to avoid casting the attack as terrorism at a time when the presidential election was less than two months away.

When you’ve lost the New Yorker, you know you’re in trouble. From the pages of the New Yorker:

For a long time, it seemed like the idea of a cover-up was just a Republican obsession. But now there is something to it.

It’s striking to see the twelve different alterations that the talking points went through before they were released to Congress and to United Nations Ambassador Susan Rice, who used them in Sunday show appearances that became a central focus of Republicans’ criticism of the Administration’s public response to the attacks.

Over the course of about twenty-four hours, the remarks evolved from something specific and fairly detailed into a bland, vague mush.

When it became clear last fall that the CIA’s now discredited Benghazi talking points were flawed, the White House said repeatedly the documents were put together almost entirely by the intelligence community, but White House documents reviewed by Congress suggest a different story.

ABC News has obtained 12 different versions of the talking points that show they were extensively edited as they evolved from the drafts first written entirely by the CIA to the final version distributed to Congress and to U.S. Ambassador to the U.N. Susan Rice before she appeared on five talk shows the Sunday after that attack.

How the Obama administration gags Benghazi whistleblowers

The ability of the Obama administration to gag Benghazi witnesses is simple - disallow high-level security clearances thereby limiting the effectiveness of their testimony.

Administration officials are finally letting the attorney for a Benghazi whistle-blower get a security clearance but the clearance is at such a low level that it will probably slow down and limit the congressional probe of how the administration handled last year’s terrorist attack on the embassy in Benghazi, Libya.
