That carcass found in Georgia: bigfoot or big lie?

There is a report at the link below about that so-called bigfoot carcass found in northern Georgia.

Bigfoot remains as elusive as ever.

Results from tests on genetic material from alleged remains of one of the mythical half-ape and half-human creatures, made public at a news conference on Friday held after the claimed discovery swept the Internet, failed to prove its existence.

One of the two samples of DNA said to prove the existence of the bigfoot came from a human and the other was 96 percent from an opossum, according to Curt Nelson, a scientist at the University of Minnesota who performed the DNA analysis.

An opossum is about the size of a house cat.

Looks like the hunt for a real bigfoot is still on.

Apollo 14 astronaut claims aliens exist

Former NASA astronaut and moon-walker Dr Edgar Mitchell - a veteran of the Apollo 14 mission - believes in ET.

And he says extra-terrestrials have visited Earth on several occasions - but the alien contact has been repeatedly covered up by governments for six decades.

Dr Mitchell, 77, said during a radio interview that sources at the space agency who had had contact with aliens described the beings as 'little people who look strange to us.'

Chillingly, he claimed our technology is "not nearly as sophisticated" as theirs and "had they been hostile", he warned "we would be been gone by now".

Preductably, NASA officials were quick to play down the comments of Dr. Mitchell.

In a statement, a spokesman said: "NASA does not track UFOs. NASA is not involved in any sort of cover up about alien life on this planet or anywhere in the universe.

'Dr Mitchell is a great American, but we do not share his opinions on this issue.'

D.B. Cooper parachute found?

The photo below is being analyzed as the possible parachute used by the highjacker D.B. Cooper in 1971.

The FBI has obtained a parachute found where hijacker D.B. Cooper is believed to have jumped, and the bureau is seeking the public's help in what may be a major break in the world's only unsolved hijacking.

"If D.B. Cooper had pulled his chute not long after that jump, he would have landed in that area," Carr said. "Is this D.B. Cooper's parachute? We don't know yet."

Loch Ness monster a paddling elephant?

Paleontologist and painter Neil Clark is dampening the hopes of Nessie believers around the world when he says the monster was perhaps a swimming pachyderm.

Clark noticed similarities in the hump-and-trunk silhouettes of swimming Indian elephants and the serpentine shapes of 1930s Nessie descriptions and photographs, such as the famous 1934 image shown as an inset above.

Why would an elephant be swimming in a chilly Scottish lake? "The reason why we see elephants in Loch Ness is that circuses used to go along the road to Inverness and have a little rest at the side of the loch and allow the animals to go and have a little swim around," Clark told CBS News.

And there's one more wrinkle in this elephantine mystery. In 1933 a circus promoter in the area—acting perhaps on inside information that the monster was really a big top beast—offered a rich reward for Nessie's capture, says Clark, a curator at the Hunterian Museum and Art Gallery in Glasgow.

Clark's theory is published in the current edition of the journal of the Open University Geological Society.

I don’t believe for a minute that Nessie is an elephant. I also am not convinced that there is a monster in Loc Ness.

Like the bigfoot stories, I’ll believe it when they produce a carcass of the creature.

A giant squid carcass has been found but so far no sea monsters or bigfoot.

Do these satellite photos show UFO’s?

I’m not sure what is shown in these photos, but they got my attention.

There are links to over 20 photos that appear to be satellite images containing some sort of ball or disc shaped object.

Eight of the pictures are said to have been taken over Florida. The rest were taken over Los Angeles, California.

The UFOs are just too big to be water towers (and there’s no shadow).

Definitely they’re NOT marks for picture stitching. In most stitching software (like for making panoramas) the algorithm comes down to finding sharp and contrasting details and aligning those spots with each other

Condensation inside some sort of housing would be my guess. If the drop were directly on the lens it would be effectively invisible. Put it a few inches/feet away and have the camera shooting with a very deep depth of field (as you would with a small aperture) and it would look just like that anomaly.

I’m sure the photos do not show alien spacecraft. They are not out of this world but they are interesting to look at. Anomalies perhaps, but not flying saucers.

Is ET messing with Texas? Dozens see UFO

UFO believers are excited by the news from Stephenville, Texas.

In this farming community where nightfall usually brings clear, starry skies, residents are abuzz over reported sightings of what many believe is a UFO.

Several dozen people — including a pilot, county constable and business owners — insist they have seen a large silent object with bright lights flying low and fast. Some reported seeing fighter jets chasing it.

"People wonder what in the world it is because this is the Bible Belt, and everyone is afraid it's the end of times," said Steve Allen, a freight company owner and pilot who said the object he saw last week was a mile long and half a mile wide. "It was positively, absolutely nothing from these parts."

One person said, "It feels good to hear that other people saw something, because that means I'm not crazy."

UFO believers will not be impressed by a predictable Air Force explanation:

Maj. Karl Lewis, a spokesman for the 301st Fighter Wing at the Joint Reserve Base Naval Air Station in Fort Worth said, "I'm 90 percent sure this was an airliner. With the sun's angle, it can play tricks on you."

The article at the link below says that about 200 UFO sightings are reported each month, mostly in California, Colorado and Texas.

The Mutual UFO Network plans to go to the 17,000 resident town of Stephenville to investigate this sighting.

Fourteen percent of Americans polled last year by The Associated Press and Ipsos say they have seen a UFO.
