Saudi Arabia's King Abdullah has died and his brother Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud is now ruler.
Abdullah, thought to have been born in 1923, had ruled Saudi Arabia as king since 2006, but had run the country as de facto regent for a decade earlier when his predecessor King Fahd suffered a debilitating stroke.
King Abdullah - Prince Salman Prince Salman, thought to be 79, has been crown prince and defense minister since 2012.
King Abdullah was a friend of the United States. It is uncertain how the new Saudi leader will view the U.S. Saudi relationship.
