Former President Jimmy Carter was recovering Tuesday morning after successful surgery to relieve pressure on his brain caused by recent falls, the Carter Center said.
Carter, who is 95 and the oldest living former president, had the early-morning operation at Emory University Hospital in Atlanta, the center said in a statement.
“There are no complications from the surgery,” the statement said.
“President Carter will remain in the hospital as long as advisable for observation.”
