The Carnegie Library shown below is located at 235 West 10th Street in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. It was build in 1903 and is on the National Register of Historical Places.
As a grammar shool student I spent a lot of time in this library. On the way home from the small SDA grammar school near 14th and Duluth Avenue I would often stop at this library for a reading session where I taught myself enough about the Dewey Decimal System to find the books I wanted.
Mostly I would seek out books relating to American History, pirate stories and mystery novels by A.A. Fair (Erle Stanley Gardner) and Nero Wolf.
It’s good to see the iconic old library preserved.
