White House says Trump taken to Hospital ‘Out of an Abundance of Caution’

President Trump is being admitted to Walter Reed Medical Center “out of an abundance of caution” after testing positive for the coronavirus, the White House said Friday.

“President Trump remains in good spirits, has mild symptoms, and has been working throughout the day,” the White House said in a statement. “Out of an abundance of caution, and at the recommendation of his physician and medical experts, the President will be working from the presidential offices at Walter Reed for the next few days. President Trump appreciates the outpouring of support for both he and the First Lady.”

Just before 1 a.m. on Friday morning, Trump announced in a tweet that he and his wife, First Lady Melania Trump, have tested positive for the coronavirus, shortly after reports that Hope Hicks, a senior adviser to the president, also tested positive and reportedly experienced minor symptoms.

The president is battling a low-grade fever, a cough, nasal congestion, and other symptoms, and his condition worsened over the course of Friday, although he is not seriously ill, officials said.

Shortly before 5:30p.m., Marine One landed on the White House’s South Lawn to transport Trump to Walter Reed. Around 6:15p.m., Trump walked out of the White House and boarded the helicopter.

Trump campaigning grounded for now by COVID-19 diagnosis

Trump is "in good spirits" but is experiencing mild symptoms related to Covid-19 as of Friday morning, White House chief of staff Mark Meadows told reporters.

"The President does have mild symptoms," Meadows said, describing him as "very energetic."
"The great thing about this President is not only is he staying committed to working on behalf of the America people," Meadows said. "We have a president that is not only on the job, will remain on the job, and I'm optimistic that he'll have a very quick and speedy recovery."

California to study slavery reparations for black Americans

California will develop a detailed plan for granting reparations to Black Americans under a new law Gov. Gavin Newsom signed Wednesday.

The law creates a nine-member task force to come up with proposals for how the state could provide reparations to Black Americans, what form those reparations might take and who would be eligible to receive them.

The reparations would not be limited to slavery, but the law requires the task force to give special consideration for Black people who are descendants of slaves. The task force's recommendations would not be binding. The task force must give a report to the state Legislature one year after its first meeting.

Shouldn’t black reparations be dealt with after reparations for Native Americans? Their land was largely stolen from them when Europeans and others flooded into North America and in particular what is now the United States of America.

In addition to the 5700 or so live fans, the Broncos had the entire town of South Park in the stands (pictured above and below) for the game in Denver against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

The South Park cut-outs were not socially distanced but they were wearing masks.

North Korean officials are going house to house to find a vandal who scrawled anti-government graffiti on a public wall — forcing residents to undergo a handwriting test to prove their innocence, according to a report.

The aggressive hunt was sparked after the slogan “Down with party officials, who live well by exploiting the people” was scrawled on a fence around Unsan county marketplace, north of the capital, Pyongyang.

“The local security department is in an uproar,” a resident of South Pyongan told Radio Free Asia (RFA).

Because the graffiti comes close to the 75th anniversary of the Oct. 10 founding of the ruling Korean Workers’ Party, officials believe it is an “attempt to overthrow party officials,” the local said.
