A Loveland, Colorado trucker has invented a device that should save long-haul truckers 8 to 10 percent in fuel consumption.
The product is called Aerowings. They resemble metal shutters and attach to the cab extenders on a truck.
The secret is bridging the gap between a truck’s tractor and trailer making the rig more aerodynamic and fuel-efficient.
Preventing air from being trapped between the tractor and trailer should save most truckers between $7,000 and $9,000 per year at current diesel prices.
The Aerowing product is not in production yet but will presell for about $3,500 according to his web site here.
Obvious questions:
When will he begin making the product?
Has he secured a building to use as a factory?
Has he hired production workers?
How much of the $3,500 will be required as a deposit on a “presell” order?
How long before productin starts?
How many can they produce in a week?
