After giving gavel-to-gavel coverage of the preposterous hearings conducted by Adam Schiff and Jerry Nadler, CNN basically has a media blackout on the Senate Judiciary Committee hearing featuring Department of Justice IG Michael Horowitz.

While all Schiff and Nadler had to offer was fanciful and speculative bullsh** with no anchoring in facts, Horowitz is painting a very grim picture of how the FBI cooked the FISA books to get warrants on Carter Page and on their improper surveillance of the Trump campaign.

Fox News is most watched cable news outlet in almost 70% of house districts

Fox News dominates CNN and MSNBC in the cable news ratings, and a new study gives some insight into the cable network’s reach across the country.

The analysis from Morning Consult found that Fox is “the most-watched cable news outlet in 299 of the country’s 436 districts” — a little under 70 percent.

In those districts, Fox is the most-watched cable news station “by a martin of at least 2 percentage points.” 63 districts apparently watch CNN the most by that martin, while MSNBC “is the most-watched cable news network in just one district” in California.

Caroll Spinney, the actor and puppeteer who portrayed Big Bird and Oscar the Grouch on Sesame Street over five decades, died Sunday at age 85.

The Sesame Workshop said Spinney had died at home in Connecticut, and that he had long lived with dystonia, a disorder that causes involuntary muscle contractions.

Juan William’s abrupt firing from NPR and hiring by Fox News seems to have kicked up an old debate over whether public radio should still receive federal funding. They do. The only thing left to debate is how much federal funding NPR receives?

The Corporation for Public Broadcasting has funded public radio since its creation through an act of Congress over forty years ago. In the past week, Sarah Palin, Mike Huckabee and Newt Gingrich have all said that this policy should be re-examined.

A report at the second link below admits that about 16 percent of NPR‘s’ funding comes directly or indirectly from government sources. So why does NPR still claim they receive no government funding?

More telling are the political radio talk shows on NPR as their political talk show hosts are liberals who can’t make it on commercial radio.

Conservative political talk show hosts don’t need NPR. They do very well financially on commercial radio. A very few liberal talk show hosts do well on commercial radio but it’s liberal political talk show hosts who gravitate to NPR because their listening base is too small to attract enough advertisers to be successful on commercial radio.

Don Cherry was fired from Sportsnet after criticizing immigrants on ‘Hockey Night in Canada’

Cherry was fired by Canadian broadcaster Sportsnet after making divisive comments about immigrants on the air Saturday night.

On the broadcast of “Hockey Night in Canada,” Cherry, an often controversial commentator, criticized immigrants in Canada for not recognizing Remembrance Day, the country’s equivalent to Memorial Day. The remarks started a firestorm in Canada that ended with Monday afternoon’s news that Cherry would “immediately step down."

Many Canadians wear small artificial poppies in the days leading up to Remembrance Day to commemorate military personnel who died during war. Don Cherry’s rant was against immigrants who do not wear the poppies.

Cherry said that he rarely sees anyone wearing poppies in Mississauga, the Toronto suburb where he lives, or in downtown Toronto. Both areas have sizable ethnic populations.

The 85-year-old Don Cherry is nearly as well known for his outrageous suits as for his outspoken nature.

Fox News is most watched Cable Network in third quarter

Fox News remained undefeated in 2019 as it finished the third quarter as the most watched cable network in both primetime and total day, according to Nielsen.

In primetime, Fox News averaged 2.4 million viewers during the period of July 1 to Sept. 29 -- down 1% from the same period in 2018 -- besting cable news rival MSNBC and sports network ESPN, which finished tied for second with 1.5 million viewers. Fox News has topped the primetime charts for all three quarters in 2019, according to Nielsen.

Fox News finished first on a total day basis for the 13th consecutive quarter despite a 3% year-to-year decline, topping in order MSNBC, Nickelodeon, HGTV and ESPN in the category, according to Nielsen.
